Thrift with Purpose

MCC Thrift in Ontario began in 1974 with the opening of our first shop in St. Catharines. Since then, MCC Thrift has grown into six community rooted shops across the province. 

Our shops are filled with welcoming volunteers that give quality used goods a second life. All proceeds go towards relief, development and peace work. 

Hope Starts at Home

MCC Thrift funds local Ontario projects addressing poverty, fostering belonging and pursuing peace. 

We work with people experiencing poverty through food, friendship, employment and advocacy. We welcome refugees by equipping churches and communities to help resettle them. We walk alongside Indigenous communities as they pursue healing and justice. 

Through learning, volunteering and advocating, we equip people as peacebuilders in their families, workplaces and communities.

MCC Thrift Ontario is part of a larger network of MCC Thrift shops across Canada and the United States. Together, these shops support Mennonite Central Committee’s relief, development and peace work locally and around the world. 

Furniture Pick-Up / Delivery

Furniture Pick-Ups:

Please call the shop (519)662-2867, email the shop nhthrift@mcco.ca, fill-out and submit our Furniture Pick-Up Form below or speak with one of our staff members at your next visit if you are interested in arranging a furniture pick-up.

We are looking for quality furniture, in good condition to price for the sales floor.  We reserve the right to refuse if the piece was not properly represented.  

This is a very popular service and needs to be scheduled / arranged at least 2 weeks ahead of time.  We will be offering pick-ups on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

All furniture must be outside of the home at the time of pick-up:  porch, driveway, open garage, hallway, lobby.  During inclement weather, please ensure furniture is protected.  We will NOT, under any circumstances, enter your home / apartment or condo.  

We do have restrictions based on our current customer base:

  • Nothing with excessive pet hair
  • Nothing from a smoker’s home
  • Nothing damaged or needing repair
  • Nothing ripped or stained
  • No large wall units (5ft or more), large desks, sofa beds, pianos, organs, treadmills, large exercise units or heavy filing cabinets

Please fill out the form, making sure you complete all required fields. 

You will be contacted via phone or email within the next few days to arrange a pick-up date and time. 

At this time, all items MUST be outside the home (Garage, driveway, outside the front door or porch.  If you are in an apartment furniture must be in the main lobby or hallway).  We are not able to enter the home. 

Donations are subject to driver inspection.  We have the right to refuse the pick-up of any item. 

MCC Thrift does not share confidential information with third parties.
